Starting November 22, Jesolo will once again transform itself into the… City of Christmas. In fact, the city administration has set the starting dates for the main events of the holidays: Christmas Village, Jesolo Sand Nativity, Jesolo Incantatus and Ice Nativity.

On Nov. 22, the curtain will be lifted on the Christmas Village, the coast’s busiest long avenue dedicated to the holidays, which connects Mazzini Square and Aurora Square, contributing more than 400,000 passersby in the city last year. A sea of illuminations, Christmas cottages, rides for children and shows for the whole family will color the heart of the lido until Jan. 6.

December 1, however, will be the opening date of the Jesolo Sand Nativity. The new edition of Jesolo’s famous sand nativity will be dedicated to interreligious dialogue and the contents of the encyclical “Fratelli tutti,” published on Oct. 3, 2020 and signed by the Holy Father on the very altar of the basilica of St. Francis in Assisi, which last winter hosted a majestic nativity made from the city’s sand. The Jesolo Sand Nativity will be open to visitors until Feb. 9, with free admission but the opportunity to contribute to numerous charitable initiatives through the purchase of merchandise and free donations. The same will be possible by visiting the Ice Nativity, ready to enchant with its sculptures from Dec. 7 to Jan. 12 in the historic center.

Rounding out the program will be cultural and musical events, including the gospel festival “Jesolo Spirituals” and the traditional Boxing Day concert. Many initiatives designed specifically for children, starting with the great return of “Jesolo Incantatus” in Marconi Square.

Finally, marking the zenith of the holidays will be New Year’s Eve in the Square. Two days of music and fun, Tuesday, Dec. 31 and Wednesday, Jan. 1, to bid farewell to the old year and welcome the new one.
